My Big News

Earlier this month I told you that I’m So Excited. Well, I can finally tell you why. For the last three years I have been an assistant catechist of the 2nd grade CCD class at my church. I have learned so much and am grateful to have been placed with two very dedicated catechists. But starting the 2014-2015 year, I will be lead catechist of the 2nd grade. The first Reconciliation and Holy Eucharist class! YAY!

During this month I’ve worked very hard coming up with new ideas for the classroom and the students. I’ve researched how to create great lesson plans, crafts and projects, and even homework to do with their parents. Yes, homework for CCD! I’ve created graphics for posters and worksheets and find and seek games hoping it will help them pay attention during Mass. {I owe a big, “Thank you,” to Jared Dees of The Religion Teacher. This website is full of resources for religion teachers.  And if you get a chance to listen to him speak, you should.}

Unfortunately I received some bitter news along with my sweet news. The lead catechist whom I have been with for the last two years didn’t like the changes that were coming, so she has decided to quit.{And then she removed me from her social media accounts.} She just needs our prayers.

Now to get through vacation bible school this summer!

    Sorry, Millie but yay! That is very exciting. I will be praying and thinking of you in your new role.

    And we will also be praying for the previous lead catechist. 🙂

      Thank you, Christina. Prayers for my friend (and me) are greatly appreciated. I only wish she wouldn’t have taken the changes so personally.

        I know. Anyone in this situation would. It’s nothing whatsoever to do with you. I think you know that.
