When the Devil Takes Control

It has been over a month since my last post.  It has been over a month since I last studied Catholicism or anything related.  I see things on Pinterest that read or repin.  I have come up with some new ideas for my Catechism class next school year.  I have read the daily reading on my YouVersion app most days.  I keep buying books to read.  They’re stacking up on my counter-top.  But that’s as far as they get.

A few months ago, I read part of a book called The Four Signs of a Dynamic Catholic by Matthew Kelly.  This book states that we should continue to read and study Catholicism in order to be included in the VERY small percentage of dynamic Catholics in our religion today.  I agree with this 100%.

So why have I stopped reading, researching, and posting? One explanation.  The devil has taken control.  Every time I think about reading or posting, I think to myself, “Ugh, not now.  I’ll do it later.”  And I haven’t done it yet.  It’s amazing how easy it becomes for the devil to slip right on in and affect us.

I’ve decided that today I will regain control of my religious education.  Satan will have no more power over my desire to learn, live and love my Catholic faith.

Thanks for sharing so honestly about something that is probably common to most of us at times: – ) A year and a half ago, my faith was intensified after reading Matthew Kelly’s “Rediscover Catholicism”. Amazing book, with life changing possibilities, for anyone…Catholic or not. Around the same time I started praying the rosary almost daily, and my life and faith were transformed. May God bless you and your family!

I'd love to hear from you.
